How long does it take for Yahoo to solve a hacker problem?
My account has been hacked into. The hacker uses my name, my picture, posts questions and answers, and one of the questions he asked was reported as a violation. The violation notice then went to my email, and it now appears on my account.
I have reported every incident that I could find, some of my contacts have reported these incidents, yet I continue to be hacked. This morning I recieved two emails through Answers from my contacts. I clicked on the Reply Here link, but when I sent the reply, the mailer daemon sent them back as undeliverable!
This hacker has also taken another photo of me, and using my real first name created another account which he uses to ask insane questions about how alcoholism is related to philosophy.
I know there is nothing you answerers can do, but tell me this:
Will Yahoo fix it? How long does it take to fix it? What will happen to the hacker? How badly has my account been contaminated?
Threaten legal action, or to go to a newspaper about how Yahoo doesn't care about user privacy and security. It should be solved pretty quickly then. Sometimes you just have to MAKE companies care.
